“Lizzy Francis has been my assistant for over 3 years, and I’ve never met anyone as quietly and thoughtfully ambitious as her. She also has this miraculous ability to be a team player, because she cares about you and the project, though she can simultaneously lead if she needs to; her skills are broad yet specific, and she can wear many different hats. Lizzy’s spirit, integrity, and care are so resolute, as is her ability to multi-task and get things done. She has what everyone wants on their side - passion, as well as a concern for making good work, which every storyteller should want on their side. She’s astute and aware of the world around her, and her position as a queer Indian-American woman within the context of now is a significant reflection. I’ve been impressed with her thoroughness and attentiveness with the work that I give her, and I’m often grateful for the ways she can move in and out of different mediums with me - I’m a writer primarily, but also a multidisciplinary artist, my work is discursive. So between writing books and films (as well as a plethora of side projects) I’ve been impressed with how Lizzy can adapt to and with me and my work. I love how she’s always keen to learn more and always eager to understand how things are or should be. She’s a rare find, and I’m so lucky to have found her.
